Glossary
The words we use on product pages and in guides, explained simply — so nothing about choosing a gift feels like guesswork.
Faith and daily practice
- Dua
- A personal supplication — words said to Allah outside the formal prayer. Dua cards and keepsakes keep a specific supplication visible during the day.
- Dhikr
- Remembrance of Allah through short repeated phrases such as SubhanAllah, Alhamdulillah and Allahu Akbar. Counters and tasbih beads help keep count.
- Salah
- The five daily prayers. Prayer mats, timetables and reminder cards are built around the salah routine.
- Tasbih
- A string of beads, usually 33 or 99, used to count dhikr. Also refers to the act of counting itself.
- Ayatul Kursi
- Verse 255 of Surah Al-Baqarah, widely recited for protection. A common engraving on wall pieces and travel keepsakes.
- Adhkar
- The set phrases said morning and evening, after prayer, and before sleep. Adhkar cards group them so they can be read without a phone.
Occasions and gifting
- Ramadan
- The month of fasting. Gifting in Ramadan usually leans practical — planners, dhikr counters, lantern-lit table pieces and children's countdown charts.
- Eid
- The two festivals, Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha. Eid gifts are given across the family, so smaller repeatable pieces and gift boxes work best.
- Nikah
- The Islamic marriage contract and ceremony. Nikah gifts are usually keepsakes the couple will use at home — prayer sets, framed duas, personalised pairs.
- Walima
- The wedding banquet hosted after the nikah. Walima favours are small, uniform pieces given to many guests.
- Aqiqah
- The celebration held for a newborn. Aqiqah gifts tend to be name-personalised keepsakes and first-library pieces for the child.
- Ameen ceremony
- The celebration marking a child completing their first full reading of the Qur'an. Marked with keepsakes, planners and learning gifts.
Products and materials
- Personalisation
- Adding a name, date or short message to a piece before it ships. Personalised pieces need 2–4 extra working days and cannot be returned or exchanged once production starts.
- Build a gift box
- Momsora's own gifting flow: choose a box size, add pieces, add a handwritten-style note, and it arrives assembled and gift-ready.
- Gift card
- A prepaid code that can be redeemed against any Momsora order at checkout. The remaining balance stays on the code.
- Unboxing video
- A single unedited video taken while opening a parcel. It is required within 24 hours of delivery to claim a replacement for a damaged, wrong or defective item.
- Shiprocket
- The logistics platform Momsora ships through. It routes each parcel to a courier partner and provides the tracking number you receive by email.
- Modest jewellery
- Understated pieces designed to sit comfortably with hijab and everyday modest dress — thin chains, smooth edges, no snagging clasps.
